Privacy policy

JB Applied Ltd is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at james@jbapplied.co.uk.

Enquiries and correspondence

If you contact us by email or through the website form, we receive your name, email address, business name if supplied, and your message. The form sends your enquiry to our email inbox. We use this information to reply, discuss possible work and manage our correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries; where you ask us to prepare a proposal or take steps towards a contract, we also process it for those requested steps. We do not use an enquiry to add you to a marketing list.

Enquiries that do not become client work are normally deleted within 24 months of our last contact, unless we need them longer for a legal claim. If you become a client, relevant records are kept for the work and applicable legal, accounting and tax requirements.

Running the website

Our website host, OVHcloud, processes technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and server requests to deliver the site, maintain security and diagnose faults. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website. Technical logs are retained according to the host's security and operational policies.

The site loads Google Fonts from Google's servers. Your browser therefore makes a request to Google, which can include your IP address and browser information. This happens whether or not you accept statistics cookies. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in displaying the site consistently. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Optional analytics

If you consent to statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand visits and improve the site. It can receive pages viewed, scrolls, outbound link clicks, video and download events, referral source, approximate location, and device and browser information. We have disabled automatic form interaction and site-search events, disabled Site Kit plugin conversion tracking, and configured GA4 to redact email addresses and selected URL query parameters. The contact form sends its contents to us by email, not to GA4. Our lawful basis for optional analytics is your consent.

You can accept or deny statistics cookies in the banner and change your choice at any time through Manage consent. Analytics cookies are not needed to use the site. If you deny them, GA4 cookies are not set. Google's consent mode can send limited cookieless signals about consent state, depending on how the tag runs; our Google tag is configured to restrict advertising, behavioural analytics and diagnostic transmissions when consent is denied. See our Cookie Policy and Google's explanation of data from partner sites.

Our GA4 property retains event-level data for two months and user-level data for 14 months after the user's most recent activity. Aggregated reports may remain available longer. Analytics cookies can last for up to two years unless they expire or you delete them. Withdrawing consent stops future cookie-based analytics collection; limited cookieless signals may continue as described above. It does not erase information already collected or necessarily remove cookies already stored on your device.

Providers and international transfers

We use OVHcloud for website hosting, Apple iCloud Mail for correspondence, and Google for fonts and optional analytics. These providers process information for the purposes above. We do not sell personal information. Some information may be processed outside the UK, including in the EEA and the United States. Where a restricted transfer requires safeguards, the providers' terms use applicable adequacy arrangements or contractual protections. See Apple's Privacy Policy, Google's transfer information and OVHcloud's privacy information. Contact us if you need details of a particular transfer or its safeguards.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests by emailing us; we will consider your request under data protection law. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
